The house on the gulf

In the book house on the gulf Margaret Peterson creates an amazing plot with a huge twist at the end. Brittany Marcus, the twelve-year-old daughter of Becky and sister of Brian narrates the story. The author uses many personality traits or "inside odd cats" to describe the characters such as calm, strong, and social but not many "outside odd cats" like hair color or clothes. Margaret Peterson also weaves these personality traits into the story instead of writing "Brit is social". The author inserts some good descriptive pieces into the book, to make the reader understand where the main charcters at. Figurative language to describe the characters' mood is put in occasionally. For example "My face flamed red, suddenly as hot as the Florida sun". House on the gulf puts readers in the position of a twelve year old girl trying to make a decision using lots of adjectives and adverbs to describe the mood. All together this book is a good read.
